The Chevrolet Corvette C8 2020 Reveals – Finally, a Corvette with Central Engine!

The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2020 has been revealed and Carlos Lago shares all the details of this video. This means, finally, that you can stop typing frantically "Central Engine of the Chevrolet Corvette 2020 C8" in your search engine.

What does the first mid-engine Corvette mean for performance? No more of that. Moving the transmission in the center of the car results in better braking, acceleration and maneuverability. The 6.2-liter V8 develops 495 horsepower and 470 lb. torque. It is connected to an automatic eight-speed dual clutch transmission.

The radical structural change means a completely new suspension design – spring dampers replace transverse leaf springs – and Chevy says the mid-engine Corvette can generate nearly 1g laterally on all-season tires.

There are still some key elements of the Corvette. The roof is removable. The optional Z51 package, which improves performance, includes larger brake disks, improved cooling, its own final gear ratio, front brake cooling and performance exhaust. The intelligent electronically controlled limited slip differential manages the torque between the rear wheels. An enhanced version of Magnetic Ride Control is optional, as is Chevy's stellar traction and performance management system.

The biggest concern for Corvette traditionalists is the volume of cargo. There are now two trunks – one front and one back – that offer a combined 12.6 cubic foot space. Chevy says the front compartment can hold a purse and a laptop bag. However, the total storage capacity is lower than that of the latest-generation Corvette, whose racing car, with its 15 cubic feet of displacement, made it the most practical sports car in the world.

Price and release date of the Chevrolet Corvette C8 2020:
The price has not yet been announced and production will start at the end of 2019.
