A candidate for president of the Volta of the National Democratic Congress of the Volta Region asks the party to recover as a foundation of social democracy by reviewing its mechanisms.
According to Frank Afriyie, the popular political ideology of the NDC seems to be losing ground because of its inability to articulate and demonstrate its beneficial elements lately.
"This overhaul will require a paradigm shift, a new way of thinking, at the regional level, to consolidate and meet the requirements of our base and the whole country," reads the statement.
Mr. Afriyie added that although the party, since its inception, has managed to harness the experience of the elders while using the dynamism of youth, it has failed to create a harmonized system that exploits past experience with new trends in reform, renewal and cohesion. growth.
He explained that no matter how long a person has served the party, times have changed and results demand respect, so new faces should also be used to contribute to party growth.
"Our aspirations are quite different. Our social structure is quite different. I think that a new face with new capabilities is needed because our challenges are quite different, "added Mr. Afriyie.
He mentioned that NDC also needed to reorganize and equip their branches with more dedicated leaders, required infrastructure, modern communication equipment and sophisticated technology systems in terms of mbad communication and social media.
In his view, the party should re-emphasize that leadership is a call to service, a response to the needs and a collaborative effort of all concerned.
Afriyie proposed a reward system that not only rewards former leaders, but also inspires others to emulate their efforts.
