The recent glimpse of the collaboration between Mac Miller and Madlib, as well as a DJBooth interview with producer Thelonious Martin, sparked questions about a project called MacLib. In response, Madlib's website, Rappcats, has issued an update to clarify things.
Eothen "Egon" Alapatt, Madlib's long-time partner, confirmed the acclaimed producer and Miller recorded an EP – and not an entire album as Martin told DJBooth. He also said: "There is no official draft publication of the EP."
"What exists is what the two men originally planned – a music from an EP that was supposed to be the beginning of something," wrote Egon. "The end point has not been planned or even discussed. The idea was to create for creation. "

According to Egon, Miller has received several batches of Madlib and started creating songs in 2015. In 2016, they decided to make an EP. Their collaborations continued throughout 2017.
the MacLib The title has also been revealed as just a placeholder.
"And what about that name, MacLib? Like Jaylib, it was just in the metadata of one of the files that he had sent, "wrote Egon. "'MacLib – Number 4' he read. The song still has no official title. "
For the moment, it seems that the death of the late rapper has put an end to the publication of his work with Madlib.
Miller died on September 7, 2018. Madlib is expected to release another collaborative album with Freddie Gibbs later this year.
