Zamalek's winless run continued after a draw at home with Petro Atletico, while Raja Casablanca dropped at home against RSB Berkane

Youssef Obama scored points in the match to save Zamalek from home humiliation and ensure a 1-1 draw to the Egyptian giants against Angolan visitor Petro Atletico in a Group D match.

Zamalek appeared to be defeated at Borg El Arab Stadium after Brazilian striker Tiago Azulao sent Petro Atletico to the forefront at the hour mark.

With the Egyptians in the foreground, Obama granted a four-minute break, connecting a decisive pbad from Abdallah Gomaa.

Although they managed to lose one point, the result was far from convincing for Zamalek, who remains stuck at the bottom of group D without a win and with just two points after three games.

And as club president Mortada Mansour has criticized coach Christian Gross over the last few weeks, the job of the Swiss gaffer could be threatened.

Petro Atletico may be cursing himself for failing to get the most points in a match he seemed almost certain to win, but he lost focus.

Azulao had scored for the Angolans after being put in place by his replacement and compatriot Toni, who had an immediate impact just three minutes after taking office for Job.

After missing out on a winning opportunity, Petro Atletico stayed in third place in this group, with the same number of points (4) as the second, NA Hussein Dey, who however enjoys a one-on-one advantage.

Elsewhere, Raja Casablanca's hopes of defending the Caf Confederation Cup title suffered another setback after a 4-2 home defeat against Morocco's RSB Berkane in a Group A draw.

Togolese striker Kodjo Fo Doh Laba gave Mohammed Farehane a decisive pbad, while Raja defender Imran Fiddi, 20, scored a goal to give Berkane the decisive victory.

Mouhssine Iajour, the main striker of the home team, also scored two goals. It was not enough to bring at least one point to Raja Casablanca, who fell to the basement of the group while he remains without a win with only two points after three games.

Raja's afternoon was wasted in the first 10 minutes of the match when Fiddi beat his own goalkeeper, Anas Zniti, to give Berkane the first goal and a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Berkane came back from the break and doubled his lead seven minutes after the restart, thanks to Laba, who gave a decisive pbad to defender Mohammed Aziz.

Iajour then tried to return to Raja with a goal in the next hour, but Farehane restored the lead of the visitors' two goals on a Laba goal four minutes later.

Iajour scored again after 78 minutes to restore the defending champions' hopes of returning, but Laba scored Berkane's fourth goal four minutes from time.

It was yet another failure to lead Raja to a first victory in this campaign of French coach Patrice Carteron, while Berkane retained the lead of the group with three points ahead at the top.

Elsewhere in Ndola, Al Hilal imposed a 1-1 draw against Zesco United in a Group C match in Group C.

Top scorer Lazarus Kambole scored a goal for Zesco with a tying goal in the 72nd minute. Midfielder Nasreldin Abdalla gave the advantage to Al Hilal after 66 minutes.

Zesco could not take advantage of Al Hilal's numerical disadvantage, with visitors having played all the second half with a man after the attack of Congolese forward Idris Mbombo in the first half of playtime.

But Al Hilal seemed resilient, releasing Abdalla following a decisive pbad from right back Samawal Merghani Elyas.

The Sudanese seemed to be heading for a big away win until Kambole was connected after Jesse Were set up to save the day from Zesco.

The result was that Zesco slid from the top to third position while Al Hilal remained in second position.

Elsewhere in Group B, 10-man Salitas scored a draw after a 0-0 draw with CS Sfaxien at Taieb Mhiri Stadium.

Salitas challenged the handicap to play in the last 17 minutes with 10 men after defender Elisee Demankel received a red card and managed to force a draw in Sfax.

Although they did not win in this third match of the group, Salitas imposed a point of distance, while Sfaxien remains undefeated.
