WASHINGTON – The lawyers of Gregory B. Craig, White House lawyer under the Obama administration, expect him to be indicted in the coming days for his work in the government Ukrainian aligned with Russia.
The lawsuit against Mr. Craig, aged 74, resulted from an investigation opened by the office of the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III.
A lawyer trained in the Ivy League and holding prominent positions in the Clinton and Obama administrations, Craig would become the first member of the Democratic Party to be indicted in a case related to the investigation of the special advocate .
Craig would also become the first person to be charged in a special advocate case after Mr. Mueller completed his investigation into the 2016 presidential election. In a summary of the investigation, the Attorney General William P. Barr said the special council team had concluded that there was no evidence that President Trump or his aides had "conspired or coordinated the Russian government's electoral interference activities."
