CW President Mark Pedowitz announced a fair amount of renewals during their time in the sun at the Association of Television Critics (TCA) Press Tour in Pasadena. Freshmen series Charm and Legacies will both receive a second year. Regarding the DC universe, the good news continued with the renewals of Arrow (Season 8), Black Lightning (Season 3), DC's Legends of Tomorrow (Season 5), The flash (Season 6), and Super Girl (Season 5). The gang of Riverdale will be back for a fourth season and prime time soap Dynasty is set up for a third season. No one to surprise – yet still impressive – the CW pillar Supernatural will officially celebrate a 15th season on the air.
"This season we extended our program to prime time at six nights with the addition of Sunday – an unprecedented success for the network, our affiliates and advertisers. In addition to increasing our schedule throughout the week, we continue to add programming throughout the year. The rapid renewal of this CW series, signature, gives us a head start on the preparation of the 2019-2020 season, and that's only a beginning, Pedowitz said. "These broadcasts provide a solid foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to continuing this momentum with even more new programming and new programming coming up in May."
