The Ministry of Energy has refuted the claims of the political think tank, IMANI Africa, that a 30-day deadline to respond to a proposed development plan by oil exploration company Aker Energy regarding new discoveries of oil well expires on Friday.
The vice-chair of the think tank, Kofi Bentil, during a press conference held on Thursday, lamented the fact that the ministry did not respond to the proposal within the deadlines set by law.

At the press conference, Mr Bentil asked why the Energy Minister, Peter Amewu, had still not responded to the proposal while the Petroleum Committee had advised him to do it.
