Boateng debuted in Barcelona on Wednesday night
Ghanaian striker Kevin Prince Boateng made his debut in Barcelona on Wednesday night in the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final against Catalans 2-0 against Sevilla.
After joining the Sbaduolo champions on Tuesday, the 31-year-old played 63 minutes last night before being replaced by Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.
Barcelona's domination of the Copa del Rey for four years, however, seems compromised after the loss to Los Rojiblancos in the first leg.
Striker Pablo Sarabia whistled the center of Quincy Promes center to give the hosts the advantage.
And Wissam Ben Yedder slipped to the last post after deflected shot from Ever Banega to double his lead.
The leaders of La Liga rested Lionel Messi.
The Catalans have won the last four Spain Cups, beating Sevilla in two of these finals: 2-0 in 2016 and 5-0 in 2018. The last time they did not succeed to reach the final was 2012-13.
