Terminal 3 of Kotoka International Airport
Pbadengers carrying valid travel documents, their escorts and persons intending to carry on official airport-related activities will now be the only persons authorized to access Terminal 3 of the airport. Kotoka International Airport.
After the terminal opens, the departures hall is always full of pbadengers, their escorts and people who have no official activity at the terminal but come to admire the building inside the departures hall. This creates inconveniences for the traveling public and hampers the flow of pedestrian traffic.
Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has therefore issued a statement restricting access to only official activities.
The new terminal is designed to accommodate up to five million pbadengers a year. According to GACL, at its peak hour, the terminal will have the capacity to handle approximately 1,250 pbadengers. It also has a fully automated baggage handling system capable of processing approximately 3,500 bags at the time.
The new facility includes a large retail and commercial area, three business lounges, six fixed lines and seven overhead bridges that can be expanded to eight.
As for parking spaces, the parking lot of the facility can accommodate about 700 cars. The facility has five levels on 45,000 square meters.
It has six contact supports for E-code aircraft and two other remote supports. At departure level, it has 56 check-in desks, 30 pbadport control centers and eight security lanes.
