While it remains a week before Liverpool enters the Premier League season at home against Norwich City, Jurgen Klopp no longer has time to complete his squad before the transfer deadline.
The Reds are mostly on the market this summer after the arrival of teenagers Sepp Van den Berg and Harvey Elliott.
However, Klopp hinted that he would like to hire another player, considered a versatile forward, if the opportunity arose.
"We have to see if we can find a position," he said last month. "If we find something for that, but there is no real pressure because it's not about signing a player. We have solutions for all situations.
"Do we have exactly the solution so that everyone on the outside is 100% happy? I do not think because people want to have the world clbad here, the world clbad here and the guy on the bench must also be world clbad. It is not so easy. But we are working on it of course.
Any activity could be based on spending such as that of Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent, and the speculation that persists about the future of Dejan Lovren and Simon Mignolet.
And when he was asked specific questions about the future of Wilson after the victory of his team on Lyon, the pre-season, Klopp was not committed.
"We are in constant conversation, it's clear," said the boss of the Reds. "We have to do what's right for us and for the boy, it's like that.
"It's not a matter of public speaking, so we'll see what will happen in the next eight or nine days until the window closes."

Klopp keeping an open mind on the transfer market, Liverpool has until Thursday, August 17, 17 hours to complete its entries and domestic outputs.
But they work with an even tighter schedule if the Reds intend to add to their team and have newcomers available for the opening day of the season.
Section U, subsection 23 of the Premier League Handbook states:" … the deadline for receipt by the Council of all duly completed documents required by these Regulations to proceed to the registration of a player is set at 12 noon on the last working day preceding the day of the first league match in which the club making the application is interested in playing, except that the international transfer certificate and proof of eligibility for employment in the United Kingdom (in both cases, if applicable) may be provided later (but must be provided before the player is registered by the League). "
So, while the transfer window closes Thursday at 5pm, Liverpool will have to register all the day limit signatures before noon so that they can qualify for Klopp in order to face Norwich City on Friday night.
