The discipline isn’t the same now – Veteran Ghanaian broadcaster Mike Eghan States | Radio / TV

Veteran Ghanaian broadcaster Mike Eghan has expressed concern over declining levels of discipline among the country’s youth.

According to him, at the time, all Ghanaian children were afraid to behave poorly and controlled themselves even when there was no one around.

Comparing the discipline levels between his time and the present, he noted, “Discipline was of great importance to everyone nationwide and parents even compared their grades on discipline. Discipline was almost a norm and young people who misbehave will even control themselves before they are done with their misbehavior. “

He described himself as a good boy who was hardly found in trouble. “You could hardly find any problems with me,” he told Reverend Erskine during the Y107.9FM Leaderboard series on the Myd Morning Show.

Mike Eghan admitted that while there were people who behaved badly in his day, it cannot be compared to the youth of today. “Young people today smoke, drink and do other bad things.”

The former “Emperor” of Ghanaian airwaves believes that discipline is at the heart of every society and expressed the hope that it will be reintroduced into Ghanaian society.

Mr. Mike Eghan worked with GBC as a show host. He also worked successfully at the BBC in the late 1960s and early 1970s, where he was a freelance host and presenter for the BBC World Service.

He has won several awards, including the Grand Medal of the Civil Division, for his meritorious service in the media.
