May 26 (UPI) – A school district has canceled the offer to rehire a dismissed New Hampshire lady after giving free food to a student while her mother is challenging her.
Bonnie Kimball was fired after letting a student go around lunch on March 28 with $ 8 worth of items at the caterer without paying.
The incident in Canaan, New Hampshire, a city of nearly 4,000, according to census data, provoked a negative reaction from the national media. Kimball told NBC10 Boston that she did not want to see him "go hungry".
"I made sure the meal was paid," she says. "For me, leaving this hungry child because he had not brought any money that day was wrong. If the bill had not been paid, I would have paid it out of my pocket.

The union leader did not name the mother or son at the request of the family for reasons of confidentiality.
The posts on Facebook showed that Kimball had told the 17-year-old athlete on March 28 to pay $ 8 because the same manager who had seen her give him the food would be back the next day. She also told him to add $ 20 more to her account because the manager would be watching her again.
