Josephine Asante was murdered on Sunday, January 13, 2019
Amos Apraku, driver of the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority (GPHA), who is the plaintiff in the case of the director of marketing and public relations of the murdered Tema port, Ms. Josephine Asante, was arrested and detained preventive.
Apraku, who appeared before the TDC TDC Court of First Instance, chaired yesterday by Ms. Akosua A. Adjepong, was fired again on February 14, 2019.
The court also remanded on February 14, 2019 the first defendant, Christian Adjei, aged 22, who is under indictment for the alleged murder of Ms. Asante while he was in jail.
Plea not taken
Police prosecutor, Chief Inspector Beatrice Ayeh, told the court that the case file had been sent to the police headquarters in Accra, but that he had told her was returned Thursday morning without the information sheets.
It did not specify when the complainant who became the accused was arrested but indicated that his sperm, footprints and fingerprints (Apraku) had been found for badysis and examination at the police forensic laboratory and that results had not yet been received.
She added that the information sheet and the forensic report would be available at the next meeting.

At the last court session on January 17, 2019, the prosecutor told the court that Apraku was an employee of the GPHA and the driver of the deceased.
She indicated that on January 12 of this year, Ms. Asante participated in a meeting organized by the GPHA in the club reserved for her senior managers at Tema Community Six and that it was held around 11:30 pm. I drove her from the party to her house.
However, she said, the driver would have gone down to Michel Camp and handed over the Mercedes Benz sedan keys to Ms. Asante so that she could continue to visit her home at EMEFS Estates.
Inspector Ayeh told the court that on Sunday, January 13, 2019, around 8:30 am, the first defendant, Adjei, the deceased's domestic helper, and his 12-year-old son, tried to open the Mrs. Asante's door, but found the locked. So they called Apraku.
According to the prosecution, Apraku found the keys to the room at the entrance to the gate when he arrived there and used it to open the deceased's door, but only to find it in a pool of blood.
The prosecutor told the court that the investigators who had been badigned to the case after the filing of the complaint had collected the semen collected in his (deceased) fingerprints and other evidence present on site.

Adjei's pre-trial detention follows a request by the prosecutor that Agyei's sperm, footprints and fingerprints be badyzed at the police forensic laboratory.
Meanwhile, some of the GPHA pilot's colleagues expressed their shock and dismay at the turn of events.
According to one of them who was in court, Adjei's wife, who was very pregnant, had to give birth prematurely after her husband was arrested by the police.
