The Duchess of Cambridge was given a ‘direct line’ to the Queen, as well as the special honor of using one of Her Majesty’s most beloved residences.
The Duchess of Cambridge uses this privilege to seek advice from the Queen or to keep her informed of her grandchildren; Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, according to royal author Duncan Larcombe.
He said OK! magazine: “Kate has her own hotline to speak to the Queen and she calls her to inquire about her and give her updates on the children.
“She always relies on her for advice.”

Duncan added that it was actually Kate who helped Her Majesty become familiar with the use of video calls during the pandemic.
“We think it was Kate who taught the Queen how to use Zoom and it’s very nice, so she can see her great-grandchildren and stay connected,” he said.
“Kate finds that balance between bowing to her as the head of the royal family in public and being able to register with her as the great-grandmother of her children.”
