Egyptian Club Ismaily SC has been reinstated in the African Champions League this year after a successful appeal against their expulsion.
Last month, the African Football Confederation (Caf) disqualified Ismaily after crowd troubles ended the Egyptian club's home game with Club Africain de Tunisie.
The match was canceled after protesters threw bottles of water and stones at an badistant referee and African players.
Club Africain led 2-1 and both teams and officials had to be protected when they left the field.
On Sunday, Ismaily 's lawyer, Nbader Azam, confirmed that the club' s appeal had been accepted by the governing body of African football.
"Today, we, the delegation of Ismaily, have participated in a hearing and Caf has accepted the call of the club.We are therefore back in the African Champions League. "
Caf confirmed his decision to reinstate Ismaily, claiming that the call had succeeded because there had been no invasion of land and that they could not establish whether there had been "aggression against the visiting team ".
Two clubs from each group qualify for the quarter-finals. CS Constantine (Algeria) and TP Mazembe (Democratic Republic of Congo) are the other two teams in Group C.
Egypt was chosen last month as a replacement for the Nations Cup after Cameroon was denied its rights because of problems of preparation and security.
