The Emmerdale actor playing Victoria's rapist was jailed for rape drug use

Emmerdale's newcomer, Kris Mochrie, who plays the man who raped Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) in a dark new story, was jailed in 2009 for two years after providing GHB, a drug clbad C known to have been used for rape.

The actor, who has already starred in Brookside and Ordinary Lies, plays Lee in the series and will reappear in future episodes of flashback revealing what happened to Victoria on that fateful night.

Kris eventually pleaded guilty to initially denying a drug supply charge by tying his friend's drink. He was convicted by the Crown Court of Hull after pleading guilty to supplying Clbad C drugs and skewing the course of justice.

Previously, he had lied to the police and claimed that two girls had had a drink to drink, but then confessed that he had committed the crime, which had led his friend to collapse in the box by night.

His defense explained that he had lied to protect his career and that he had submitted 25 letters from actors and other people attesting to his reputation.

A few hours later, in the same club, Chloe Leach, 21, collapsed and died. Initially, the police had linked the two cases, but it turned out later that Chloe's death was not related.

Judge Jeremy Richardson, QC, said: "What happened last September was terrible. You were in the nightclub with your partner and you provided the GHB with a clbad C medication. He knew what he was taking. This particular medicine has a number of dangerous side effects.

"He became extremely ill because of its harmful effects, if ever a case demonstrated the dangerousness of this drug, that was it."

Lee's character made his first appearance in Emmerdale's nightclub scenes last week, though Metro.co.uk understands that the similarity to Kris's conviction stops there since Lee's character does not did not spill Victoria's drink.

ITV spokespersons had no official comment to make when Metro.co.uk had contacted them.

We will learn later that Victoria has been raped, so it is likely that Kris will reappear in the role in the current scenario.

Emmerdale has been at the center of controversy recently after Aiesha Richards' actress, Shila Iqbal, was fired from her role after discovering historical tweets containing racist language.
