President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo promised that the late Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, Emmanuel Agyarko, who died in the United States last week, would be a burial and funeral worthy of the name.
The President gave badurance when the Manya Krobo tradition leaders visited him at the Jubilee House on Monday to formally inform the State about the death of the late MP.
President Akufo-Addo called the government a big loss for the state. The government is saddened by the disappearance of m Agyarko and said the government was ready to play key role in the burial and burial ceremony.
"He was a pillar of the work we are trying to do for the benefit of the people of Ghana. The government and the party will work with you to make the arrangements that will allow us to start with dignity. We will miss him. He was worthy comrade, Said the president.
The NPP legislator died last Wednesday in the United States where he had gone for treatment after stabilizing his state of health at Accra Ridge Hospital.
Mr. Agarko, married with seven children, has been a member of the constituency of Ayawaso West Wuogon since 2012, after replacing current chief of staff Frema Opare as a member of the region.
The late MP was a pharmacist, doctor and politician born on 10 December 1957 in Odumase Krobo, eastern Ghana.
He had a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 1982.
He was formerly the CEO of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
