Alex Mold, former general manager of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), said the energy sector needed clever financial management and devoid of any policies to function effectively.
He said, "Energy is a financial game. If you want to be part of the energy sector, you have to make sure that you have the financial institutions that support you. This is absolutely important.
"So we have to make sure we have smart financial management in all these areas; we stop politics in these areas and let these organizations function as high performing companies. "
Mr. Mold was talking about the Business Edition edition of PM Express on JoyNews on Multi TV Thursday night.
He believes that energy sector institutions should be run by competent and non-party-based teams.
Mr. Mold adds that this would enhance the credibility of institutions when they seek the support of financial institutions.
