The family dog ​​found 'dead' makes his way out of his grave and returns to the owners

A family dog ​​who was buried after his owners believed him dead, managed to get out of his grave and go home.

Dik, 18, was found motionless on his blanket at his home in the Russian village of Novonikolsk.

His heartbroken owners, his two older sisters, were unable to wake him up and, because of his age, badumed that he was dead.

They then gathered to give him a funeral at a pet ceremony in the village located in the far east of Russia, in the Primorsky Krai region, reported Mail Online.

But he woke up shortly after his burial and managed to clear his way out of his shallow grave and run for safety.

He found himself at the edge of a nearby highway, where pbaders-by saw the exhausted dog.

They collected it and took it to a pet shelter in Otkroi Svoe Serdtse (Open Your Heart).

The owners of Dik spotted the photos and came to the pet shelter to take him home.

Irina Mudrova, head of the accommodation center, said: "Fortunately, they did not bury him underground and he managed to rise to the surface after regaining consciousness.

"Her owners, two elderly sisters, came to bring him home and cried."

He has now been reunited with his relieved family.

But history has sparked discussions in the village, some referring to Pet Sematary, a horror film and a Stephen King movie where buried pets come to life.

Kasyanenko Anastbadiya, a social media user, said, "I wonder if the owners of Dik have read Pet Sematary, are they afraid for their lives?
