Supreme Head of Saboba, Bowan John Mateer Sakojim IV, is badociated with the calls for a peaceful coexistence between Konkombas and Anafos, known as Chekosis, in Saboba and Chereponi, respectively in northern and northeastern regions.

Appealing to his palace on Monday June 3, 2019, Bowan Sakojim IV appealed to all parties during the latest outbreak of violence to give peace a chance and continue to live in peace with the Anafos, with whom they live together for centuries.

The supreme leader of Saboba made this appeal when Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia called on the Saboba leaders and people to join forces to restore absolute peace and security in the region as a result the outbreak of violence a few weeks ago. killed a man and injured several others.

The Vice President was in the Northeast Region as part of this year's National Ramadan Tour, which has already taken him to 15 regions, where he joined 39 other Muslims to pray for and advocate for continued peaceful coexistence between people of different faiths in Ghana. .

Addressing the meeting, Bowan Mateer Sakojim, supreme leader of Saboba, said that the fighting time was over and that it was now time to restore peace.

"Mr. Vice-President, Konkombas are peace-loving people. We cherish peace more than any other person. It is interesting to know that Konkombas and Chekosis live for several years in harmony. What has happened to us today is therefore disturbing.

"… I wish to take this opportunity to send a strong appeal to the youth and people of Saboba and Chekosis for us to give peace a chance. Peace is the precondition for everything. We need a stable environment for our children to go to school. We need a stable environment for our farming activities. We need a stable environment for businesses to thrive. And we need a stable environment to be able to adopt all the policies of the government in place.

"So, in this regard, anything that militates against the establishment of peace in these two regions should be the object of critical attention."

Bowan Mateer Sakojim IV revealed that plans were in place for a meeting between Saboba leaders and their counterparts in Chereponi.

"I also want to take this opportunity to say to the Deputy Speaker that we have accomplished a great deal and will never falter in our efforts to achieve peace. As we speak, it was expected that I would lead a delegation of leaders with the Regent of Chereponi to discuss issues that disturb peace. I do not think the trip has been abandoned. We are still working on things and I am working with the district chiefs and then with the member to determine if they can make it easier for us to meet with the Chereponi Regent to discuss peace issues.

"I mean that Konkombas and Chekosis are the same people. We got married, there is a lot of common things between us, and I do not think we have to go over all these things just because we talk to each other. "

While expressing the Government's thanks for Sabbat's peace-making efforts, Vice-President Bawumia called for sincere cooperation among all parties to the conflict to ensure lasting peace.

"If there is a peace so necessary to the development of this country, it will be peace between Konkombas and Chekosis. And I know that when the supreme leader of Saboba speaks, the Konkombas listen.

"What we need to focus on is not taking peace for granted. We work on peace. I greatly appreciate the efforts of the supreme leader here to also meet the regent in Chereponi to enable him to work together for peace. That's what makes it really durable; that both people have to sit together. "
