The sequel, at least in part, was shot in northern New York State, in two small towns outside Buffalo, according to Syracuse.com. Emily Blunt will reprise her role in the second part, alongside Millicent Simmonds and Noah Skirt, the original children's actors. Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) and Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) were added to the cast.

The story of Quiet Place 2 will focus on the extraterrestrial origins of the world, while telling the stories of survivors beyond the family since the first film, according to Henry.

A Quiet Place review by IGN has described it as "surprisingly satisfactory", thanks to its "simple but effective premises" and its "propulsive performance".
