The dormitory of Cardinal Dery caught fire while the students were in clbad
A dormitory at St Charles Minor Seminary in Tamale burned Monday afternoon, destroying the personal belongings of students, an evolution that could make students homeless.
The fire, which began at 12:29 pm at Cardinal Dery's dorm, completely burned eight of the nine rooms at once when students were in clbad.
It took the intervention of the Ghana Fire Service personnel to control the fire and prevent it from burning the last room of the dormitory.
A similar fire at the school in March 2017 destroyed the school's two-story dorm block, leaving only two rooms in the school.
The situation forced the authorities to convert some blocks of clbadrooms into dormitories as a temporary measure to house about 500 students in November 2018.

During the celebration of the school's 65th anniversary last November, the school's director, Mr. Polycarp Kuusokub Beyelle, expressed concern about the lack of accommodation facilities for students; something she said affected back to school in the last school year.
"Since the incident that occurred last March, I have written to GETFund, the Ghana Education Fund, and to other authorities, but nothing has happened. Has been done on this subject, although some officials have come from headquarters to inspect and estimate costs.
"Until now, only the old boys have taken the initiative to renovate the few dormitories that host the students," he told the Daily Graphic.
The destruction of another dormitory during Monday's fire would probably aggravate the already catastrophic housing situation in the school.
