The first group of the Black Stars team arrived at the team base in Abu Dhabi as they begin the final tournament preparation phase of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament. which will take place in Egypt from June 21st to July 19th.
A contingent led by Acting Secretary General of the GFA, Alex Asante, which included players and members of the technical team arrived in Abu Dhabi Sunday morning.
The rest of the team is expected to arrive in the team's camp on Monday morning as coach Kwesi Appiah and his team prepare for the flagship African football competition.
The team will be in the UAE for three weeks before traveling to Egypt for the tournament.
The senior national team will play two friendlies in Dubai June 10-15, with South Africa being one of Ghana's opponents in pre-tournament friendlies.
The Ghana team is expected to arrive in Egypt for the tournament on June 20, five days before its Group F opener against Benin's Squirrels at Ismailia stadium.
The Black Stars will face Cameroon, reigning African champion, in their second match group match in Ismailia before facing Guinea Bissau in the last group match at the Suez stadium.
Ghana is about to end its 37-year drought at the African trophy and to win its fifth continental title at this year's edition.
