Leeds United midfielder, Kalvin Phillips, admits he's excited about the idea of playing the playoffs for whites because it's the first time he's playing for the end of the season.
The Yorkshire giants were hoping to qualify for the playoffs in recent years, but this term has almost caught automatic promotion.
As such, participation in the playoffs has disappointed many White followers, but Phillips is tackling the end-of-season games with enthusiasm.
Leeds will play both rounds of a semifinal playoff and, if he can enforce himself as a winner, will head to Wembley in search of a prestigious promotion in the Premier League .
Phillips admits that this will be the first time that he will have something to play at the end of the season and believes that the recent 1-1 draw of Leeds against Aston Villa shows that they can mix it with the best.
"There are very good teams in the mix but with the performance we had against Aston Villa, it shows that we are able to deal with teams like these ", Phillips told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
"I'm excited because this is the first time I have something to play at the end of the season.
"And I'm really confident", he added.
Phillips was reinstated in the starting lineup against Aston Villa, having been relegated to the bench in the Leeds defeat at Brentford on Easter Monday.
