NEW YORK (Reuters) – The flights were halted Saturday at Newark Airport after a plane skidded during the landing but no one was injured, reported federal officials.

The Federal Aviation Administration stated that United Airlines Flight 627 landed at 1300 hours. from Denver and skidded off the left side of runway 22 at Newark Liberty International Airport.

The FAA issued a statement that the main gear of the left aircraft was stuck in a grbady area and that the aircraft would be towed after the evacuation of the pbadengers.

Newark Airport indicated that arrivals and departures were pending and advised travelers to check with their carrier.

United Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
