It looks like Mark Tucker, an industry expert, is adding to his list of references.

According to a Sky News report, the non-UK HSBC chairman succeeds John McFarlane, president of Barclays Plc, and will chair the lobby group TheCityUK.

A seasoned leader, Tucker served as General Manager of the Prudential Plc Group, headquartered in London from 2005 to 2009, and at the large Asian insurer AIA Group Limited from 2010 to 2017. He was also a member of the Tribunal. from the Bank of England. Executive Director from 2009 to 2012.

Tucker was recently named to succeed Monty Hilkowitz, who leaves office at the end of the month, as a non-executive chairman and independent director of the South African insurer Discovery.
