The Abudu family in Dagbon kicked off the long-awaited funeral of the late Yaa-Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV.

They have two weeks to attend the funeral, and later the Andani family should also interpret the late Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II from January 4 to 18, 2019.

People from all walks of life arrived in Yendi County to participate in the event.

They include chiefs and sub-chiefs, tourists and residents of the traditional Dagbon region and beyond.

According to the official program, Abudus Regent, Boling-Lana Mahamadu Abdulai, will occupy today (Thursday) the new temporary Gbewaa Palace, built Friday, December 15, 2018.

The final funeral is scheduled for December 27th and will be completed by a Muslim prayer on December 28th.

Commemorative conferences will take place on Wednesday, December 19th.

Imams and pastors intensified their prayers for a peaceful Dagbon before, during and after the funeral.

The Dagbon Malimi Zungo Association (DAMAZ) and the Dagbon Forum (DF) have doubled their support to promote and maintain the desired peace, unity and reconciliation in Dagbon.

The Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has once again raised the profile of security in this country.
