It has been almost a year since Demi Lovato suffered an almost fatal overdose.
Since then, she has focused on her sobriety and is developing, which means that her music has been put on the back burner.
Fans are supportive and want to see her in good health, but they also want more songs from the artist. Will she ever return to the studio where Lovato's career as we know it is over?
Overdose of Demi Lovato
In July 2018, Lovato was taken from her home in Los Angeles to the hospital due to an overdose. After spending two weeks in the hospital, she was transferred to inpatient rehabilitation and began working on her recovery.
Everyone was relieved when it appeared that Lovato took his sobriety seriously. Last January, she celebrated six sober and clean months by posting a picture of her sober coin on Instagram. This month, she will celebrate another anniversary: a year without fail.
Shortly after leaving rehab, Lovato shared an update in a social media message now deleted. According to People, she wrote:
"I've always been transparent about my background with addiction. What I have learned is that this disease does not go away or disappear with time. It is something that I must continue to overcome and that I have not done yet. I want to thank God for keeping me alive and healthy. "
Since his overdose, Lovato has stopped working on music to focus solely on his health. The last time she's released new music dates back to 2016, so fans are eager to discover new tracks. And now that it's been almost a year, they're worried that she's never going back to music.
Some updates show, however, that Lovato has not completely forgotten his career.
Lovato has a new manager
Although she may not be releasing music yet, Lovato is still thinking about what's best for her career. This is evident in his recent decision to sign with a new manager. Lovato announced on Instagram that she had signed with celebrity music director, Scooter Braun, who also runs big names such as Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Hilary Duff.
In his message, Lovato expressed his enthusiasm. She wrote: "The guys !!!!!!! Dreams have come true today for me. I officially have a new director !!! And not any new manager, but the one and only @scooterbraun !!!! ", revealed Lovato on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of her and Braun." I could not be happier, inspired and excited to start this chapter with your scooter !!! Thank you for believing in me and be part of this new journey.
We can not say for sure, but a new manager might mean that she thinks at least about making new music.
Lovato can be back in the studio
Idina Menzel recently told us that Lovato could start making music again or at least spend time in the studio. Menzel posted a photo on her Instagram that showed her and Lovato kissing in a purple-lit studio room. Although they are not in a recording booth. But it shows that Lovato has at least spent time in the music studio.
The photo was subtitled by Menzel: "Today, we came across the beautiful and talented @ddlovato at the studio!"
Before his overdose, Lovato had teased an upcoming release. During a Q & A session in May 2018, a fan asked if she had finished singles out of Tell me you love me. "Enough," Lovato replied. "I have so much new music coming out very soon !!!"
But only a few months later, Lovato had an overdose and everything was put on hold. Now that we know that she's visiting the studio, fans are wondering if she continues working on her 2018 music or if she's starting something completely new.
If it is important that Lovato focuses on her sobriety, the more she expects to come out of new music, the harder it will be to succeed in her career. Unfortunately, people forget an artist if they do not make new songs.
Let's hope that Lovato will be able to find a happy medium between taking care of himself and making a career. And with a little luck, she'll be quick to see it.
