Health officials confirmed that gastroenteritis was at the root of a nausea and vomiting virus that forced the closure of a primary school in Dubai this week.

The Kindergarten Starters, an Indian education school owned by Gems Education, was closed for two days Wednesday after some twenty students became ill.

According to the information received, the first case occurred on April 8, shortly after the return of a student vacation. That night, many children complained of feeling sick.

Dubai Health Authority

On Thursday, health authorities in Dubai said they had completed their investigation and discovered that the cause was gastroenteritis.

"The DAH would like to badure the public that all students are now in good health," he said in a statement.

"They left the hospital and no new cases were reported."

An external company is in the process of thoroughly cleaning the building and all school buses. The school will reopen Sunday.
