Thomas Teye Partey hopes to retain his crown of best player after being nominated for the 201 Ghana Ghana Awards' footballer's trophy.
Partey, who won first prize in the first edition last year, was nominated alongside Black Maidens striker Mukarama Abdulai and Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan. .
The full list of nominees was unveiled on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Samsung Premium Rooftop in Circle, Accra.
Felix Annan and Mukarama Abdulai won the most nominations of the evening, with three each. Thomas Partey followed in second place with two nominations.
The home player of the year category includes Asante Kotoko's Felix Annan and Fatawu Safiu alongside Mohammed Alhbadan of Hearts of Oak.
For the player based abroad, Thomas Partey has been nominated alongside the star of Inter Milan, Kwadwo Asamoah and Joseph Aidoo of KRC Genk.
Assante Kotoko coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor will face Johnson Smith of Karela United and Augustine Adotey of Black Maidens for Coach of the Year.
Mukarama Abdulai was named favorite to win the women's football title of the year against Black Queens duo Janet Egyir and Grace Asantewaa.
