- Pastor David Nabegmado was stabbed to death on Sunday, December 30, 2018 in the morning, in the church premises, while he was preparing for a sermon from his nephew.
- Ms. Josephine Asante, marketing and public relations manager for Tema Port, was stabbed in her bedroom on the night of Saturday, January 12, 2019.
- Joseph Migal Jinjer, an engineer from the Ghana Water Company Limited, was traveling with his family members to Bunkpurugu on New Year's Eve, when he was gunned down by gunmen in Langbinsi, East Mamprusi Municipality, in the North region.

"The right to life is a fundamental human right, guaranteed by Ghana's 1992 Constitution. The lives of Ghanaians and those residing in Ghana must be protected and no one should be subjected to violence in any form except as permitted by law. The state is therefore obliged to ensure the security of its citizens and residents at all times. The recent wave of killings and the resulting heightened sense of insecurity pose a threat to Ghana's democracy. Safety and security are essential elements of the rule of law and must be protected and guarded by the state.
"The Ghana Bar Association therefore requests the Minister of the Interior and the Inspector General of Police to implement, without delay, measures to ensure the safety and security of Ghanaians. The GBA further calls on the government to ensure that Ghana's police have sufficient resources to enable them to maintain law and order.

"The Bar also calls on the security and law enforcement services to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into all cases of murder, arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators. Authors must not escape justice.
"The GBA also worries about the spectrum of lawyers appointed to defend people in such cases. It is totally unacceptable that a lawyer who gives the best representation to his client, regardless of the case, is harbaded in any way because it is the foundation of the rule of law that we have accepted as our way of life.
"We reiterate here our previous calls for respect for the rule of law, freedom of the press, the right to freedom of speech and the safeguarding of the peace and security of our country," said Anthony Forson, Jnr. and Yaw Acheampong Boafo, National President and National Secretary, respectively.
