The luxurious and popular Villagio apartments in Accra have been closed by officials of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) because, apparently, the owners of these apartments are not allowed to operate.

On June 3, 2019, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) closed the luxurious Villagio Vista, the acclaimed collection of apartments and restaurants in Accra, as Villagio owners do not have a license to allow it to operate. 39, operate this establishment.

According to Kuulpeeps.com, the GTA placed a notice of closure on the premises and gave management 24 hours to ensure that all customers leave the premises.

Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of the Greater Toronto Area, said institutions that do not meet the standards set by the Authority would not be left behind.

Agyeman reportedly said: "It is unfortunate that some people decide that I want to establish a hotel, a hostel, a restaurant, a guest house but will not go through the necessary process.

So we decided once again to go and eliminate them. So, all the illegal operators that we have, we are going into the exercise to eliminate them. "

Villagio, located in one of the most expensive parts of the capital, is home to the famous and rich. It is estimated that monthly accommodation could cost around $ 1,800, or 9,700 GHC.
