Ms. Paulina Patience Abayage, Regional Minister for Upper East East, said the government was determined to minimize corruption by using all the available political guides to achieve results.

She added that although corruption and its related problems were supposedly perceived, there was an urgent need to ensure that the top of the phenomenon was crushed by adopting multifaceted approaches and inviting key actors to raise awareness and clean up the system.

Ms. Abayage said this in an address read on her behalf at a mobilization meeting of traditional authorities, duty bearers, media and civil society organizations (CSOs).

The minister said recent government activities were clearly linked to the fight against corruption.

"The recent adoption by Parliament of the draft law on the right to information, the establishment of the Special Prosecutor's Office, the anti-graft institution, resources and logistics made available institutions charged with fighting corruption and related problems in the country, such as the Auditor General's department, were many examples of the government's efforts to fight corruption in the country ", she noted.
