Kwasi Amoako Atta, Minister of Roads and Roads, reaffirmed the government's commitment to improving the country's road network to accelerate national development.

He called on entrepreneurs who delay projects and perform poor quality jobs to give up the practice and optimize resources or face the wrath of the government.

Mr. Amoako Atta spoke at a grbad cutting ceremony to begin construction work of an asphalt pavement of 4.5 km of suburban roads of Nsien in the municipality of Nzema East , in the western region.

The infrastructure project of 20 million GHC roads is part of the government's efforts to improve the country's road networks and make the various main streets attractive.

This decision is in keeping with the promise made by the Minister of Roads and Highways at the grbad cutting ceremony on Axim Township roads last year at Axim Victoria Park.

The project would be built by InterGlobal Partners Construction Limited within 18 months under the supervision of the Urban Roads Department.

Mr. Amoako Atta thanked MP Catherine Afeku for standing up for the cause of development and putting the government on guard for project implementation.

The Minister of Roads said that the western region was the country's food basket, but that its road network was insufficient and that the population was convinced that "the time has come to attack the roads. ".

He urged contractors to follow the advice of traditional leaders on how best to structure the roads, adding that, together with the directors of the Urban Roads Department, he would monitor the progress of the work to ensure that quality work was done and completed on time.

Awulae Agyevi Kwame II, chief of Nsein's traditional council, who presided over the ceremony, thanked the government led by Akufo-Addo for keeping its promise and pledged to help the contractor to lead the project is well timed.

Addressing reporters, MP Catherine Afeku thanked President Akufo-Addo for responding to their call for the construction of the roads in Canton Nsein.

Ms. Afeku took the opportunity to rebadure the brave people of Nzema East Municipality that the Akufo-Addo-led government was committed to infrastructure development as a springboard for economic and social development.

Ms. Afeku, named Yaa Asantewa of Nzemaland, urged all Ghanaians to unite and continue to support Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo for the remarkable work that he is doing.

Frank Okpenyen, Regional Director General for the region, admitted that the wave of development that had erupted in the municipality in the past two and a half years was unprecedented.
