The government will present today the review of the half-yearly budget 2021

The government, through the Ministry of Finance, will present the 2021 Semi-Annual Review to Parliament in accordance with Article 28 of the Public Financial Management Law 2016 (Law 921).

By law, the Minister of Finance must present the semi-annual review to Parliament no later than July 31 of each fiscal year, and this year’s presentation will be on Thursday, July 29, 2021.

A statement released by the ministry said the presentation will provide the economic and fiscal performance of the economy for the first half of 2021 as well as an update on the implementation of key programs, including the government’s strategies to create jobs for Ghanaians in general and young people in particular.

He said the mid-year review would also highlight the status of the implementation of the Ghana CARES “Obaatanpå” program which aimed to revitalize and transform the economy before the pandemic.

“The review is also expected to focus on income, expenses and fundraising performance for the first half of 2021 and provide insight into the implementation of the 2021 budget,” he added.

He said the mid-year review should also touch on government assurance on securing Covid-19 vaccines for immunization and effective national revenue mobilization initiatives.
