According to reports received at energynewsafrica.com, one of the towers located near the headquarters of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), which transmits electricity from Karpower and AKSA to the national grid, has been destroy.
The incident occurred Monday at dawn and officials from the Ghana Grid Company discovered it when they showed up for work.
The incident is likely to affect the power supply in most areas of Tema and surrounding areas.
GRIDCo's general manager, Jonathan Amoako-Baah, who confirmed the incident on this portal, said he was shocked by the reason why someone could do this in the country.
He wondered if those who had done it had acted in such a way that the public was the victim of a power failure.
Mr. Amoako-Baah, who worried about the situation, however indicated that he was currently reviewing the situation to determine the impact of the electricity supply.
Items recovered from the scene included a hacksaw.
The director of systems control at GRIDCo, Mark Baah, stunned by the incident, said: "A human being has deliberately cut it. It's amazing. I have never seen anything like it.
