A DEADLY drug was left "inches away" from children, including a four-year-old, at a McDonald's restaurant in Wales.

Luckily for her mother Charlotte Morgans, she spotted the triangular blue "punisher" pill, implicated in the deaths of several teenage girls, before her daughter could eat her.

Charlotte told Wales Online that she had remained "petrified" after finding the drug near her daughter's Saturday: "I had my four-year-old daughter with me, she was inches away.

"It was on the base of the seat, at the Cyfartha McDonald's iPad table."

The tablet was wearing a skull mask logo of Marvel The Punisher.

Blue in color, synthetic drugs would be three times stronger than ordinary ecstasy pills because they contain MDMA super active (active agent in ecstasy).

Charlotte said that, fortunately, she had recognized the drug in the social media, especially because warnings had been posted after "a young boy recently deceased after taking one in the park".

She handed the pill to a woman cleaning the restaurant, who said that she would hand it over to the manager.

A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "I can confirm that the McDonald's restaurant staff of Cyfartha retail store, Merthyr Tydfil, has been alerted to an object discovered by a customer.

"We are currently investigating this issue and cooperating with the police on this issue."

Police recently again warned of the dangers of drug addiction after the deaths of two other teenagers related to punishing tablets.

Harley Girven, 19, died suddenly on the Isle of Wight, while a 17-year-old boy suffered a heart attack following an incident in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Hampshire police warned of the dangers of the blue ecstasy pill after Harley's sudden death.

A spokesman said: "As a result of the teenager's death, the police remind people of the dangers of illicit drug use, especially a blue triangle tablet of ecstasy / MDMA known as of "punisher", deemed to be about three times more potent other ecstasy tablets. "

Police in Warwickshire said police were called to a property in Stratford, where five boys allegedly took a type of MDMA called "Mandy".

One of them died, while the other four teenagers taken to the hospital were later released.

Last year, Jackson Gibbons, 15, of Pontypool, died in a Premier Inn after an overdose of ecstasy pills, revealed an investigation.

The teenager and his friend took three punishment pills each while they were attending a rave under 18 in Bristol on April 2, 2018.

Deputy Coroner Simon Fox determined that he had died of the effects of ecstasy.
