The residence of Starr FM Upper East Region correspondent Edward Adeti, whose investigative piece recently led to the resignation of Minister of State Rockson Bukari, was ransacked Thursday night by unknown badailants.

The attackers allegedly broke into the journalist's residence while he was away from home with his family and lost his television set.

This comes just days after the resignation of the state minister and former regional minister of the country's Upper East following the leak of a videotape in which he had been heard wanting to plot the journalist for that purpose. he writes an article against a Chinese mining company, Shaanxi.

It is unclear, however, whether there is a correlation between the two incidents, but the attack on the journalist has raised suspicions among the public.

The journalist's employers condemned the attack while calling security agencies to ensure the safety of him and his family, as well as all journalists.

"The EIB network has organized the internal security of Mr. Adeti and his family and will want to call security agencies to give priority to protect 24 hours a day all journalists who risk their lives to discover the decay of society", the statement said. Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi, CEO of the EIB network, signed this agreement.

His employers also call on the general public to join in condemning the attacks on journalists in commemoration with World Press Freedom, which will take place on Friday, May 3.
