MJeremy Corbyn met with European leaders in Brussels this week and tried to position himself as a prime minister, prime minister, able to unite MPs behind a new plan after twice rejecting the 39, Theresa May agreement.
He spoke of the need to prevent an exit without the agreement of the European Union, to "look for alternatives" and to forge a parliamentary consensus on a new starting point.
Much of this is bluster and spin. Many Members would argue that constructive discussions should start at home in Parliament. It is clear that the most important disagreements break out in Britain, and not in Brussels, where EU leaders are for the most part united in their opinions.
It would also be easier to take Corbyn's posture seriously …
