The Internet of Things will pose security problems next year, says the executive

"The Internet of Things" has created all kinds of cybersecurity problems – and the problem is likely to worsen in the near future.

The Internet of Things, commonly referred to as IoT in technology circles, is the concept of conventional Internet-related objects that communicate with each other – think for example of automobiles or devices connected to the Internet.

But just like computers connected to the Internet, these networked devices can be hacked.

"Next year, we will definitely hear about even more important IoT security challenges," said Haiyan Song, general manager of Security Markets at Splunk, a US software company, which helps customers to badyze cyber threats.
