The invasion of the perfect pitch? Dog ends Irish cricket match

CSNI CC and Bready Cricket Club were playing the final stages of their Women’s All-Ireland T20 match when a dog appeared out of nowhere.

Players and commentators were then left in hysteria as the furry pitch invader snatched the loose ball from the outfield with its owner desperately trying to chase it away.

Luckily, batter Aoife Fisher was able to pull the dog towards her and retrieve the ball, with commentators joking that he probably “needs a cleanup” now.

“I think this has taken Covid regulations to a whole new standard,” they laughed.
