A seven-member jury has been tasked with hearing the trial of a dozen people brought before a High Court in Accra for allegedly trying to destabilize the state.
The defendants face multiple charges of treason and possession of firearms without legal authorization.
Eight of the total number provided by the court clerk were rejected by some of the defendants.
Dr Frederick Yaw Mac-Palm rejected three, Donya Kafui also rejected three while Bright Alan Debrah rejected two.
The composition of the jury paves the way for the start of the full trial where witnesses would be called.
The accused are Dr Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, the alleged mastermind behind the coup plot; Donya Kafui aka Ezor, a local arms maker (blacksmith) from Alavanyo; Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu, aka BB; Colonel Samuel Kojo Gameli, Lance Corporal Ali Solomon, Lance Corporal Sylvester Akapewu, Lance Corporal Seidu Abubakar and Johannes Zikpi, a civilian employee of the Ghanaian armed forces.
The other two defendants, ACP Dr. Benjamin Agordzo and Adj II Esther Saan alias Mama had already been released on bail by another court.
They would have had discussions about whether to kill the president once their plot was successful.
They also reportedly planned to acquire electronic equipment for the sole purpose of jamming the National Communications Authority’s system in order to render all broadcasting stations useless, except the public channel.
