The last 16 of the Champions League: Christian Pulisic does not give up the return of Borussia Dortmund while he looks for the swing of the three goals against the Spurs

Borussia Dortmund striker Christian Pulisic does not lose hope of progressing in the Champions League, as the Germans lost 3-0 in the first leg of their last game against Tottenham.

Dortmund went to Wembley on Wednesday for his first meeting and seemed ready to guarantee equal control over the first 45 minutes' evidence.

Jadon Sancho was a particular threat to the leaders of the Bundesliga, impressed by his tight dribbling and his dazzling defense of the Spurs.

But after half-time, Dortmund was blown away – Son Heung-min made the breakthrough with volleying from Jan Vertonghen's center, before the Belgian and Fernando Llorente scored for the other end.

Dortmund faces the match before the return leg in Germany on 5 March, but Pulisic – who had little impact on the debates at Wembley – is confident that Lucien Favre's men are not tied.

When asked if he still believed, Pulisic told reporters, "Of course, this team will believe until the end.

"We are going home now, nothing prevents us from scoring three goals at home, we have already done so."

"We just have to go and we have to be positive and enter with a good state of mind in this game.

But for the Spurs, their performance and second-half result against teams such as Dortmund is a welcome boost for entering a crucial period of the campaign, according to Hugo Lloris.

"At this point in the season, this kind of performance gives you a lot of confidence for the rest of the season," he said.

"Especially as we enter a very important period for the club, where everything is played, and playing like that against Dortmund, it's very good for the confidence."
