The National Democratic Congress (NDC) revealed that every Ghanaian had about GHC7000.
According to the party, the total outstanding debt of Ghana is currently $ 38.9 billion, or 198 billion ¢.
The figure, YEN.com.gh represents 57% of Ghana's gross domestic product (GDP).

The NDC claimed that the Akufo-Addo-led government has added to Ghana's debt burden.
He added that the government was using money for consumption instead of capital spending or infrastructure development.
Pulse.com.gh reports that data from the Bank of Ghana (BoG) recently showed that total debt stock had increased by 22 billion GH ¢ in the space of four months.
It increased by 51 billion GH ¢ from March 2018 to March 2019.
In January 2019, the total public debt amounted to $ 35.7 billion (GH 176.6 billion) and to $ 35 billion (GHS 180.7 billion) for February 2019. These figures represented, respectively, 51 , 3% and 52.5% of GDP.
Current debt includes the $ 3 billion dollar bond issued by the government in March 2019.
Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, however, said the Akufo-Addo administration would continue to borrow to build the country.
According to him, it is important for a government that wants its country to develop to do what is necessary to boost growth.
