The chairman of the Ashanti regional branch of the Delta forces, a self-defense group, Kojo Bamba, revealed that the group members did not need work.

According to him, "Some of us work and have their own business. Some have PhDs and other degrees. The majority are also traders.

They already have their job. They work since 2008 until now. These are ordinary Ghanaians who have certificates to apply for jobs when they need them.

Therefore, it is not because of this [vigilantism] they will go home without a job. There is nothing like that. We are not paid from anyone too.

According to a report from Citinewsroom, his comments follow calls for job creation for members after the dissolution of these groups.

The Delta Force has already welcomed government plans to end political vigilance in Ghana, saying that the importance of the Delta Force had been mitigated by the creation of similar groups, hence support for dismantling.
