A boy who sent a birthday card to his father "in paradise" received a moving letter from the Royal Mail telling him that it had been delivered safely.
Seven-year-old Jase Hyndman of West Lothian received the letter baduring him that his message to his father, James, had gone through the "difficult" journey.
His mother, Teri Copland, said, "I can not really say how emotional he is to know that his dad received his card.
"Royal Mail, you have just restored my faith in humanity."
In response to Jase's envelope asking to be sent to "Paradise," Sean Milligan of Royal Mail said, "I just wanted to take this opportunity to contact you and tell us how we managed to send your letter to your father in paradise.
"It was a tough challenge to avoid stars and other galactic objects heading towards the sky," adds the note.
She concluded: "I will continue to do everything in my power to ensure safe delivery to paradise."
The Facebook message containing Royal Mail's response to Jase has been shared more than 200,000 times.
Jase and her 10-year-old sister Neive celebrate each year their father's birthday since his death in May 2014.
Ms. Copland said, "He was upset and did not stop saying," My dad really got my letter, mom … "card at Christmas and birthdays.
"I want people to realize that a small gesture of kindness can have a fantastic impact on the life of someone … Royal Mail has participated and it comforts me so much."
