TRIPOLI, 04 April
(Xinhua / GNA) – The Libyan government, backed by the United Nations, said Wednesday the state of
public alert, hours after the army based in the East announced plans to move
to the west to take over the capital Tripoli.

"This kind of
language does not allow for reaching a consensus, but discourages Libyans and
shame on all parties, "said the government in a statement, calling
Army plans based in the East "provocative".

"With such
persistence in adopting this aggressive attitude … we issued instructions and
said the state of public alert to all military and security forces to prepare
and deter any threat to destabilize a part of our country ", the
statement added.

The UN supported
Government also warned that the military solution to the crisis would only
bring "destruction and suffering to the people".

Early in the day,
Ahmad al-Mismari, spokesman for the Libyan Army, told a local television channel that
the army was preparing to move to the west, especially to Tripoli, and take over
the region.
