Dozens of NPP supporters in the central region on Thursday besieged the party headquarters in Asylum Down in Accra to present a petition calling for the reinstatement of the region's first vice president, Horace Ekow Ewusi.
Supporters from the region's 23 constituencies have accused the party's regional president, Robert Kutin Jnr., Of being hidden behind a faceless supplicant, Edward Okraku Adum, to suspend the first vice president, who is not in charge. he considers a threat to his position as president.
Ekow Ewusi was suspended on Monday by the president after refusing to respond to a petition accusing him of criminal acts, including drug smuggling, prison evasion in the United Kingdom and sale to the United States. Illegal auction of excavators seized on mining sites.

"The regional president has done nothing for the electoral district of Ekow Ewusi. People are screaming at the NPP for it's not working, but Minister Ewusi has been able to support people with a laptop. Supporters of the new Patriotic Party (NPP) in power in the central region protested Thursday against their regional president.
They accused President Robert Kutin of making unfair decisions against some party leaders in the region.
According to angry protesters, President Kutin would be the cause of the party cracks in the region.
They added that the party could lose the 2020 elections if President Kutin did not resign.
