A disagreement between two brothers on the carcbades of a dog and a goat sacrificed for their late father cost the life of a person while the survivor is in custody.
Nwenle Takia, 52 years old and the eldest of the two brothers, reportedly stabbed her 50-year-old brother Bignani Takia on her left armpit, upper left chest and testicles as they fought over the cooked goat meat. and dog in Piabuni a village near Gbingbani in Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo District of Northern Region on Monday.
Bunkpurugu police said around 7:45 pm on the fatal day that she had received a distress call from Gbingbani District MLA Dawuni Richard, who claimed that the two brothers were fighting for a small meat and dog cooked at Piabuni after a sacrifice, both returned to their late father.
It is unclear how the fighting occurred and what the cause was, but police learned that Nwenle Takia had fired a knife and stabbed Bignani Takia several times, killing him instantly.
The dead person's body was sent to Faith Community Hospital in Nakpanduri, where a post-mortem examination was conducted before the body was returned to the family for burial.
Appellate Judge Ackah, responsible for the case, said the suspect, Nwenle Takia, was in custody.
