Ghana’s Vice-President Dr Bawumia, who spoke on behalf of President Nana Akufo Addo, congratulated the laureates for their contribution to the growth of the national economy and development.

He also indicated that the government has enacted new laws with others in preparation to clean up and regulate the construction industry in order to create an enabling environment for the sector.
“There is a lot of work going on to strengthen the legal framework to help regulate and create an enabling environment for the construction industry,” he said.

Among the 44 laureates were the Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwasi Amoako-Attah, who was named Minister of Infrastructure of the Year; the Managing Director of the Ghana Cocoa Board, Mr. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, who received the award for the best SIGA in the construction industry of the year; the President and CEO of the Federation of Private Enterprises, Nana Osei Bonsu, emerged as the Outstanding Excellence Leadership of the Year, the Woman of the Construction Excellence of the Year going to the President of the Progressive Road Contractors Association, Madam Joana Adjei.
